La Crosse man arrested for at least 8th drunk driving charge

60-year-old hit a fence at Kwit Trip on Lang, then was doing 40 and all over road.

A La Crosse man is up to at least his eighth drunk-driving charge. 

Edward Brickl Jr., hit a fence at the Kwik Trip on Lang Dr. on Sunday afternoon and then was speeding and swerving on the street before police stopped him.

The 60-year-old had a blood-alcohol level of .17.

He admitted to drinking up to six Budweisers while playing horseshoes.

Police had him doing 40 mph in town. 

His earliest OWI conviction dates back to 1995 in Houston County in Minnesota. 

Bond was set at $10,000 or the OWI. He also had operating while revoked and a bail-jumping charge.
