Despite layoff notices to Gander Mountain employees, they’re not laid off

New owner changing stores, including Onalaska, to Gander Outdoors.
According to the new head of Gander Mountain, layoffs aren’t necessarily layoffs.
Marcus Lemonis is the CEO of what will become Gander Outdoors through the bankruptcy of Gander Mountain.
While Gander Mountain, including the store in Onalaska, Wis., is going through a liquidation sale and layoff notices have been filed for employees who work there, Lemonis says that’s just part of the process.
For those Gander Mountain stores that are staying open — like, apparently, the Onalaska store — Lemonis, through Twitter, said the employees will become Gander Outdoors employees.
Earlier this year, Lemonis’ company, Camping World, bought Gander Mountain in a bankruptcy deal worth close to $400 million.
