UPDATE: Woman killed on I-90 hit by motorhome, then another vehicle

Traffic was rerouted for 3 hours.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is taking its time investigating the fatal accident Sunday on I-90 near French Island.

The woman, who died Sunday afternoon, had pulled over on I-90 and gotten out of her car when she was hit by a motorhome.

It wasn’t, however, until a second vehicle struck the woman, that she was killed. 

A patrol spokesman in Tomah, Wis., didn’t know when the agency would be able to release the name of the female.

The fatal accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, causing traffic to be rerouted for three hours.

It was the sixth traffic death of the year in La Crosse County, matching the county’s total recorded for all of 2016.
