WATCH: Officer vs. Duckling — a high-speed chase in La Crescent

Published

Police and fire saved seven ducklings from storm drain.

While a high-speed chase in La Crosse led to a stolen vehicle ending up in the river, another chase in La Crescent was of a much different variety.

A call came in Tuesday that ducklings had fallen in a storm drain in La Crescent. The seven babies had to be rescued by officers with the La Crescent police and fire departments.

One duckling, however, tried to make a getaway. Officer Chris Frick was in hot pursuit.

The wood ducklings had fallen into a drain at N. 2nd St. and Walnut. Officers returned them to the safety of their mother hen.

The incident was posted on the La Crescent Police Dept. Facebook page. Below, officers are retrieving the ducklings from the drain.
