Gallegos gets 5 years probation for home invasion
Second suspect is serving prison time for pistol-whipping, taser attack
A La Crosse man says he feels ‘horrible’ for the pain he caused to two men during a home invasion, claiming he was under the influence during the attack.
Sir Abraham Gallegos was originally charged with attempted murder for the 2015 incident at a King St. home for the pistol-whipping and stun gun attacks on the victims.
The 21-year-old Gallegos was convicted on a lesser charge of burglary, and Judge Elliott Levine withheld a prison term and placed him on probation for 5 years.
A co-defendant in the attack, Paul Thomas Jr., got a 7-year prison term.
Levine says Gallegos has been cooperative, and family and friends of Gallegos spoke in his defense, saying he’s working and attending school and acting as a mentor to his younger siblings.
