A 48-year-old La Crosse man is in jail after he essentially turned himself in after showing police a stash of meth.

Police received a call Friday afternoon from Kevin Reffruschinni, who found some meth in a suitcase near the railroad tracks that he wanted to turn over.

Police put him in a squad car and Reffruschinni led them to the suitcase, which was hidden between bushes. Inside the suitcase was three aluminum foil wraps of meth.

Reffruschinni told them it was a bad batch, and he didn’t want it exposed to “the kids.”

He was taken in on possession of meth and bail jumping but the La Crosse County District Attorney’s office didn’t file any charges Monday.
