To-do list could balloon to over $75 million.

A review of the $40 million La Crosse Center renovation plans gets back underway today by the board.

Companies that are consulting on the expansion project will meet with the La Crosse Center board to go over the dozens of maintenance needs.

The center is trying to limit the cost of improvements to around $40 million but additional items mentioned by the project consultants could add up to several million dollars more — possibly as high as $75 million.

Many items on the deferred maintenance list could cost over $1 million, such as roofing repairs, electrical and mechanical upgrades.

So far, members of the board have been focusing on second ballroom and balcony plans for improving the 37-year-old building but other possible priorities are still on the table.

The main ballroom options range from 20 to 40 million dollars. Meanwhile, the consultants have picked out many existing needs that should get attention. Those items include remodeling of the center parking ramp, roofing and electrical repairs, and changes in seating within the main arena.
