Holmen’s $4.3 million library nearly complete
A year after construction began, opening date set for Sept.
The $4.3 million library in the Village of Holmen is almost complete.
Opening date is set for Sept. 11, about a year after construction began.
The new facility will be a vast improvement on the old.
“We’re not just a place to come and check out books,” library manager Deen Layland said. “It’s a gathering facility. We’ll have a fireplace.
“We’ve always had a book group that met off site. Maybe now we’ll actually have a chance to meet at the library.”
There are just a a few minor finishing touches like furniture and carpeting left for the nearly 18,000-square-foot building.
