Mississippi River boat crash; two confirmed dead after body recovered Sunday
Two people are dead and five others injured following a boat accident Saturday night on the Mississippi River.
A call came in at 6PM of a boat hitting a concrete marker near the Town of Bergen in Vernon County.
The 32 foot vessel began to sink with 7 passengers on board.
57 year old Diana Klankowski of Spring Grove was pronounced dead at the scene, and the body of 47 year old Kevin Hanson of Mabel was recovered Sunday afternoon.
The 5 other passengers were taken to area hospitals.
Cops say several people near the accident helped assist the victims.
Lifejackets were not in use at the time of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
