Fatal accident Sunday morning Vernon County’s first

Crash wasn’t discovered for 7 hours 

Vernon County has reported its first traffic death of the year.

A driver crashed into several trees and was thrown from the car after swerving on a highway near the Serendipity Golf Course at La Farge.

The accident apparently happened around 2 a.m. Sunday, but because of a steep embankment and tall grass, the crash was not discovered until seven hours later.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
