With state budget set, La Crosse school board to look at its own budget
Local Taxes will pay for 48 percent of that budget
Now that the Wisconsin budget is all but signed, school districts can take a closer look at their own budgets.
At its bi-monthly meeting tonight, the La Crosse school board will do just that for its $2.8 million budget.
Local Taxes will pay for 48 percent of that budget.
One thing the board will look into is improvements, as 11 buildings are over 40 years old.
The district predicts $1.19 million in repairs to buildings this year, including $500,000 to Longfellow Middle School and $334,000 for Central High School.
The report predicts 10.84 students to every teacher this year, down slightly from the year before.
