Two people were found shot to death early today inside a house on French Island in an apparent murder and suicide.

Officers found the bodies of a man and woman at a house on Lakeshore Dr. around 5:30 a.m., according to Town of Campbell police chief Drew Gavrilos.

A gun believed to have been used in the shootings was found in the house.

The woman was living in the house and the man had lived there at one time. Gavrilos said the adult children of the woman asked police to check on her.

The public reportedly is not at risk.
