Oktoberfest parade spot-saving policy not relaxing in La Crosse

Items will be taken and a ticket will be given

La Crosse’s city hall has no plans to let up on the Oktoberfest parade spot-saving policy.

The city’s board of public works, this week, approved enforcement of the policy that prohibits people from camping out days ahead of time for the Maple Leaf Parade.

That means no couches, chairs, tents or anything else can be in the public right of way before midnight of Oktoberfest parade day, which is Sept. 30 this year.

Violators will have their items hauled away and charged for the privilege.

To get it back, they might have to dig through a pile at Isle la Plume – and pay a $124 ticket.
