Meals will be sent to Puerto Rico and Central America

They packed 78,000 meals for people in Puerto Rico and Central America and collected more than 25,000 food items for local shelves.

The iFeed Rotary program in La Crosse did that all in one day last weekend at Logan High School.

More than 400 volunteers turned out for the one-day food drive.

The meals will be sent to Nicaragua and to hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

It’s the third year that local high school students in the Rotary Interact program have staged the iFeed event.

Seven high schools in La Crosse County take part in the event.

Last year, 34,000 items were collected. This year’s goal was 50,000.
