Horse has to be put down after manure truck rear ends Amish buggy

Driver said he thought he hit a deer 

The horse was injured so badly it had to be put down, after a manure truck rear-ended an Amish buggy late last week.

The driver of the buggy was knocked unconscious, while Jacob Ketelsen, the truck driver, fled the scene.

The accident happened around sunset on Hwy. 33 near Cashton, Wis. Ketelsen told police he thought he hit a deer.

He was released on signature bond Monday in Monroe County court and is due back in court in two weeks.
