Park Board to consider Municipal Boat Harbor design revisions at special meeting
Renovations were to be completed and the harbor ready May 1
A special meeting of La Crosse’s park board takes place today that may bring to a close the ongoing fight over the future design of the Municipal Boat Harbor.
La Crosse’s city hall and some boat owners have been at odds for weeks over renovation plans for the harbor.
Some have been angry that any renovation has been ordered at all. Others question the city’s promise to have spaces for all long time slip renters with renovation plans that seem to squeeze out many of the bigger houseboats.
The park board today will vote on design revisions that add significant numbers of large boat slips to the final layout plans.
Work on renovations were supposed to be completed over the winter with the harbor ready for use by May 1.
