Committee to vote on spending $20,000 on consultant over senior centers
Two centers are old and in need of repairs
The city of La Crosse could bring in another consultant. This time, to help decide the future of two local senior centers.
A sub-committee on senior citizen centers could vote next month on whether to spend up to $20,000 on an outside study of the South Side and Harry J. Olson centers.
Both buildings are old and in need of repairs.
The city council would make a final decision on such a hire.
Among the ideas that could be studied would be moving the south side center to the South Branch Library, converting the current Denton St. building to a Fire Museum and building senior apartments at the north side Olson center.
