La Crosse County home sales see big rebound in November

La Crosse County may have seen some not-so-inspiring home sales numbers for most of 2017.

November, however, turned out to be a big turnaround. Numbers just out from the Wisconsin Realtors Association on Monday show sales of homes were up 34.5 percent for November over the same month last year. That puts total sales for the year through last month down just about 3 percent from last year.

Sales from last year to this year, however, remain down during the same time period.

The Realtors group says sales for the state overall remain on a pace to break a record this year.

The median home sales price statewide is at $170,000. In La Crosse County, the median price for November was $178,000.

The Realtors group suggests 2017 might be a record year for sales despite a continued shortage of homes to buy and continually rising prices.
