Few challengers to La Crosse County board, as filing deadline is Tuesday

With less than a week to file, only five people are set to challenge incumbents on the La Crosse County board.

All but one of the 29 board members have registered for re-election on the April ballot.

That one member is Kathie Tyser and only one candidate is seeking to take her seat.

The filing deadline is at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The supervisors now being targeted by challengers include Sharon Hampson of La Crosse, Laurence Berg and Dan Ferries of Onalaska and Ray Ebert in West Salem.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
