Bethany Lutheran Homes residents say notice from management company is an eviction

In what has been described as an eviction action, some Bethany Lutheran Homes residents in La Crosse say they’ve been put on notice.

The Inclusa management company cites the inability to come to a contractual agreement with Bethany as the reason for the need to, in the company’s words, “stop providing Residential Services.”

The letter, dated Jan. 3, was given to WIZM by the child of a current resident. Those living at Bethany have been given until March 3 to “secure a living alternative.”

In the letter, Inclusa said “We recognize this to be a difficult time for members and their families.”

The relative of one resident at the Bethany on the Cass St., said they’re just hoping the “situation can be resolved quickly.”

The contractual dispute with Bethany apparently came over the negotiation of rates from November and December of last year.

It’s unclear at this point whether the letter is meant to serve as an eviction notice or a bargaining tool in the dispute.

WIZM has received no comments, yet, from either Inclusa, based in Stevens Point, Wis., or Bethany Lutheran Homes.
