State agents investigating weekend officer-related shooting in Monroe County

DOJ says sheriff’s office has cooperated

The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred Sunday morning in Sparta. 

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Sparta Police Department responded to a domestic violence call where a male was threatening a female with a knife.
A Monroe County deputy fired his weapon, killing the man.
The DOJ says the deputy is on administrative leave pending outcome of the investigation.
The Monroe County District Attorney’s Office will get their final report.
