A Sparta area woman called police early Monday saying someone came into her home, assaulted her, then stole her car and other items.
The good news was, Tomah police caught the suspect and returned the stolen items. The bad news, that suspect crashed the woman’s car into a guardrail.
That’s how Monday morning started for authorities.
The woman called police around 2:30 a.m. saying she was assaulted before being robbed.
Tomah police chased down the suspect in the stolen car, after it crashed into a guardrail, according to the report. The injured suspect was taken to a Madison hospital and remains in custody of the Sheriff’s office on multiple charges.
