Coulee Council meets money-raising goal

Rehab agency needed only 6 months to hit target
 

When planning their new Recovery Center in La Crosse, leaders of the Coulee Council on Addictions set a fund raising goal of $3.5 million dollars. 

They have now achieved that goal, weeks ahead of the anticipated close of the drive. 

At a Friday news conference, campaign chairs Dan Radtke and Tom Thompson hugged each other after joyfully announcing “We did it!”

The building project was announced last July, and zoning was approved by the City Council in October.

The new building going up on Ferry Street is a few days behind schedule, because of severe cold weather earlier in the winter, but it is expected to open in July.

The Coulee Council has been in its current building on West Avenue for 50 years.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
