Thompson helps Walker promote low jobless level in Wisconsin
Walker touts lowest jobless rate in 19 years
Two governors come to La Crosse to make a case for finding work in Wisconsin.
Current Governor Scott Walker brought former Governor Tommy Thompson with him to a La Crosse job service center on Friday, where they celebrated the state’s record low unemployment rate of 3 %.
Thompson was governor in the late 90’s, the last time Wisconsin’s jobless rate was that low.
Thompson says people living in the state have a spirit of ‘can-do’ that will help the economy.
Walker told staffers at the job office that Wisconsin needs to have skilled workers to fill the many positions that are now open around the Badger State.
