La Crosse man guilty of posting ex’s nude pics on dating website
A La Crosse man, accused of stalking his girlfriend and posting nude pictures of her on-line, reached a negotiated guilty plea.
Silberio Pena Wellner was convicted of a felony charge of possessing or distributing an ‘intimate representation’ and will be sentenced in May. He was charged with five crimes but pleaded guilty to just the one. Charges of posting private pictures without consent were dismissed.
The ex-girlfriend began getting on-line messages from strangers, who were asking for sex. She learned that nude photos of her had been posted on the dating site PlentyOfFish.com.
Pena Wellner said he owned the pictures, so he could do what he wanted with them but also told police his friends created the dating profile.
The woman’s profile on the dating website, according to the original complaint, included her full name. Her occupation said, “sex worker.” And it stated she had herpes.
Prosecutors claimed that he threatened to kill the woman or her dog and followed her once to Europe.
