Anderson pleads guilty to federal drug charge from Trempealeau County
Mitrel Anderson of La Crosse avoided prison after a fatal stabbing, when he successfully argued self-defense and a La Crosse jury acquitted him.
But now, Anderson is certain to go to prison for drug charges, after pleading guilty in federal court.
Anderson will get a minimum five-year prison term when he’s sentenced in April.
Two years ago, Anderson was riding in a car in Trempealeau County when cops pulled the car over and found 84 grams of meth and a gun, following an arranged drug buy.
At a 2014 murder trial in La Crosse County, Anderson was found “not guilty” of the stabbing death of DeMario Lee at a La Crosse Kwik Trip.
He claimed that Lee had attacked and threatened him in a Kwik Trip restroom.
