Onalaska city administrator: Police chief resigns for “career opportunities”
The resignation of Onalaska’s police chief reportedly was motivated by a ‘desire to pursue other career opportunities.’
The Onalaska city administrator has issued a news release, citing ‘career opportunities’ as the reason Chief Jeff Trotnic resigned on Friday.
The short statement from administrator Eric Rindfleisch says the city thanks Trotnic for his years of service and ‘wishes him well’ in the future.
The resignation comes days after city council candidate Greg Luce apparently emailed current city council members claims of misconduct by Trotnic over an alleged extra marital affair.
It was 10 years ago this September when Trotnic assumed the post of Onalaska police chief.
