La Crosse man bites one cop, gets two others tased in struggle
He allegedly bit a cop’s hand for 10 seconds. Then he was tased, along with two officers who were holding him down.
The incident happened Sunday night at a La Crosse apartment on Miller St. and has gotten Louis Steele charges of battery and resisting arrest.
Several officers were called to the 33-year-old’s apartment, where he also, reportedly, threatened to shoot police, along with making threats to neighbors.
He’s expected to return to court next month, after a scheduled back operation.
Prosecutor Courtney Strittmater said in court Tuesday Steele has a long record of arrests.
Early last year, Steele was arrested after a standoff with police at a house near the former K-Mart in La Crosse. He was placed on probation for three years.
