A La Crosse man could get his second DUI, after rear-ending a squad car Sunday morning.

Around 1:15 a.m., police had stopped at Third and Pearl streets downtown to let pedestrians cross, when 26-year-old Tyler Kindard rear ended the squad car.

The accident happened just before another officer was going to pull over Kinard for going 38 mph.

Kinard admitted to drinking too much and asked officers to not do sobriety tests with so many people around.

The tests were done at the police station. Kinard even asked to skip to the breathalyzer and just give him the DUI. They didn’t and he blew a .21.

Kinnard told police he wasn’t sure how many shots he had, just that he drank what was bought for him.

Kinard was also cited for inattentive driving.
