This April could be 2nd snowiest ever in La Crosse, if forecast through Sunday holds up

La Crosse could get anywhere from 1 to 6 inches of snow this weekend from a new winter storm headed for the region…and the latest forecast leans toward the high end.

The National Weather Service predicts 5 inches for the city of La Crosse between now and Sunday night, with a little more expected in the northern part of the county.

The 5-inch zone extends southward, into northern Crawford County.

During the first 12 days of April, La Crosse has gotten 7.6 inches of snow.

Another 5 inches would make this the second-snowiest April in city history, behind the 17-inch snow total for April of 1973.
