La Crosse sets all-time record for snow in April
It looks like La Crosse has broken a weather record that stood for almost 50 years.
Wednesday’s snowstorm has made this the snowiest April on record in the city’s history.
With several parts of La Crosse reporting 5-7 inches of new snow Wednesday — on top of 13 inches for the month through Tuesday — that would easily break the old mark of 17 inches resulting from a two-day blizzard in April of 1973.
That also would make April the snowiest month of this winter, beating the 10.8 inches recorded in La Crosse in January.
