Missouri visitor may have exposed others in both counties

Somebody from Missouri who stayed in the La Crosse area more than a week ago might have exposed area residents to the measles.

That person went to a church, hotels, restaurants, and a Dollar Tree store in La Crosse and Trempealeau Counties between April 13th and 16th.

La Crosse County health director Jen Rombalski cautions anyone who experiences measles symptoms, such as a fever or a rash, to call a doctor ahead of time before showing up for treatment, so medical staffers are ready for you.

The symptoms of measles don’t show up until at least a week after exposure…meaning that anyone infected at those local sites might start feeling sick right about now.

The visitor spent three days at the Comfort Inn of Onalaska, from April 13th to the 16th.

Other places where people might have been exposed include:

–Beedle’s Bar in Galesville, from 7:30 to 10:30 pm, Apr. 13,

–The Dollar Tree at Onalaska, on Apr. 14,

–St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Galesville, 10 am to 1:30 pm, Apr. 15,

–Champions Riverside Resort in Galesville, from 12:30 pm to midnight on April 15,

–the Fairfield Inn of downtown La Crosse, from 6:30 pm to midnight, Apr. 15,

–and the Texas Roadhouse restaurant on Highway 16, Onalaska, from 9 pm to 11:15 pm, Apr. 15.
