Billings picked as economic growth champion by WEDA

La Crosse Democratic state rep. Jill Billings is known for her legislative leadership on issues like sex trafficking and the opioid epidemic.

But a pro-growth, pro-jobs legislator?

That’s the determination from the Wisconsin Economic Development Association, as Billings is one of 20 state lawmakers to earn the organization’s Champion of Economic Development award.

The award is based on voting record on pro growth economic policies, among other things. Billings, apparently, has one of the 20 best records in the legislature, according to the group.

Brian Doudna, WEDA Executive Director, said Billings “was a champion on numerous legislative issues to help foster economic prosperity and create new opportunities for growth in Wisconsin.”
