Rapid melting of last week’s snows in the region could push the Mississippi River to the 12-foot flood stage in La Crosse by Saturday.
A crest of 12.6 feet is being predicted for Monday. The Mississippi has already gone up a foot in La Crosse since Saturday. It’s now at 8.5 feet.
