Road closures for Grandad Half Marathon in La Crosse

Here are the road closures for this weekend’s Grandad Half Marathon, which had events beginning Friday (chart below).

The events take place Friday-Sunday, with over 3,000 runners and cyclists taking part.

Friday Bliss Road will close from approximately 3-8 p.m.

Saturday’s half marathon begins at 8 a.m. in Grandad Bluff Park and finishes in Riverside Park. The 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m., starting and finishing in Riverside Park.

Sunday’s Cycling Criterium, a fast road race loop in downtown La Crosse, runs from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Note that if you live along the half marathon or 5K race route, you will not be blocked in but may experience delays in getting out of your home.

Volunteers or police officers will be stationed at each route intersection to assist vehicles in safely crossing.

• 2nd Street (from Jay Street to State Street)
• Jay Street (from 2nd Street to Front Street)
• Front Street (from Jay Street to State Street)
