NE Iowa teacher facing charges for sex with student

CRESCO, Iowa — A female teacher is being charged with having sex with a male student.

Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander teaches for the Howard-Winneshiek School District. The 29-year-old has pleaded not guilty to having sex on several occasions with the 18-year-old student.

Ranweiler-Oblander, a high school english teacher that lives in Decorah, is accused of sexual exploitation by a counselor, therapist or school employee. Four incidents of sexual contact with the young male reportedly occurred in March and April at his home.

The school district has placed her on administrative leave and banned her from school grounds while the case is in Howard County court.
