More murals proposed for public sites in La Crosse
Artist Landon Sheely is just about set to paint three colorful figures on the wall of the downtown La Crosse Main Street parking ramp, facing southbound traffic on 3rd Street.
Weidenbach says word of the ‘Helping Hands’ project has led to proposals for other public paintings around the city.
“Downtown Mainstreet has been thinking about murals in locations downtown,” he said. “We’ve had a couple different presentations to the art board about murals on the lower north side.”
Sheely is scheduled to be paint his mural sometime in June. The city still has to arrange for a lift, to allow the artist to paint the three-story work of art on the ramp wall.
