Sparta street crew, police rescue ducklings from storm drain
The call came into police Saturday that 12 ducklings were trapped in a storm drain. Sparta’s police headed off to Belmont Avenue and assisted the city’s street crew in safely freeing the babies and reuniting them with their mother, who was waiting nearby.
