Both motorcyclist and horse killed in collision on Hwy. 44

A collision between a motorcycle and a horse has killed both the motorcyclist and the horse.

The accident happened late Friday morning in Fillmore County on Highway 44 west of Mabel, Minn.

A 60-year-old man from Decorah, Iowa, was driving a Harley-Davidson when he hit the horse in his lane of the highway.

The motorcyclist and the animal reportedly both died at the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
