La Crosse Garden Terrace development deal vote to be put off for a month
Breaking ground on a new apartment complex next the Kane Street Community Garden on the north side of La Crosse likely won’t happen next month.
Developers hoped to get the closely watched Garden Terrace underway by that time but some financing issue has popped up.
So, the city council will apparently put off a vote on a deal for the development until next month, pushing the start of construction back.
Developers have upset neighbors in the area around the complex by planning to provide less than half the required off street parking spaces.
Garden Terrace is a $10 million development aimed largely at low income families and the formerly homeless.
