Dairyland Power becomes the 17th business to help in the construction of the All-Abilities Trane Park

A fundraising gala is this Saturday at the Waterfront starting at 5:30 will reveal the fundraising total

Another La Crosse area company has stepped in to help the effort of creating an all-inclusive park at Trane Park in La Crosse.

10,000 dollars was presented to the Trane Park committee Tuesday afternoon by the leaders of Dairyland Power.

Project leader Fran Formanek says companies are helping in the way of donations and also pledges to help

Formanek said, “Companies have stepped forward and will do some of the work, or some of the products that will be used in the park itself.”

Fundraising for the 6 million dollar total is about halfway completed.

The park is set to be an all-inclusive upgrade that includes equipment for those with physical disabilities and those who have autism.

Formanek says this park might in turn help the business community, which is why 17 companies have helped out so far

“By making this city even better, and putting a park like this together, it’ll help them in employee retention, and help to bring people in looking to get hired. There are so many people out there who have disabled children.”

The park will be the only one of its kind in Wisconsin. Ground will be broken on the parking lot in September.
