Missing woman found dead in Vernon County lake, murder suspected

Fisherman finds woman’s body 2 weeks after she disappeared

 
A 35-year-old woman who has been missing for two weeks was found dead on Sunday in a Vernon County lake. 

County sheriff’s officers and La Crosse police have identified the body found in Runge Hollow Lake as that of Erin Bushek, who had last been seen on June 2nd or 3rd. 

Investigators are treating her death as an apparent murder. 

Bushek had left her car, her keys, and medication behind at her home when she disappeared. 

On Sunday, a fisherman discovered the body and called law enforcement. 

Several agencies, including the State Patrol and the DCI, have been involved in the search and recovery. 

La Crosse police plan to provide more information on Monday.
