Paint and fix up grants available in La Crosse

Published

The city of La Crosse has some good news for those who have projects around the home that they can’t quite afford.

The city’s Paint and Fix-up Program is now accepting grant applications aimed at sprucing up certain neighborhoods.

The $1,000 grants can be used for paint and repairs on exteriors of homes and garages for both single-family and rental properties — though rental owners have to provide a minimum 50 percent match.

The program is first come, first served and limited to a certain section of the south side only — roughly from Trane Park, north to Cameron Street, east to 17th and west to the river.

A map of eligible properties can be downloaded here.
