Woman rescued from river near Houska Park

Crews rescue person holding onto a piling in the Mississippi

 
 
Fire crews in La Crosse were on the Mississippi early Sunday morning to rescue a woman in the water. 

The city fire department was called to Houska Park shortly after 1 a.m., because of a report of somebody being in the river. 

Yells for help led them to a woman holding on to a river piling near a barge that was docked. 

The woman was taken to the 7th Street boat landing, and then to an ambulance.
 
Her condition is not known right now.
