One dollar here, five dollars there.

Small donations to the Freedom Honor Flight program in La Crosse could add up quickly in the next two weeks, during a Festival Foods icon sale.

The new president of the local Honor Flight group, Dave Larsen, says the Festival promotion around the 4th of July raises about $20,000.

The average cost of sending about 100 local veterans on a day trip to Washington D.C. and back is around $100,000.

The next flight from La Crosse will be Saturday, September 15th.

Veterans will be contacted in early July about taking that flight.
