La Crosse man sentenced to probation for sexually assaulting teenage co-worker
Adams convicted of sexual assault in plea agreement
A La Crosse man is being placed on probation for 18 months, after pleading “no contest” to sexually assaulting a teenage girl he worked with, leading to a pregnancy.
Brandon Adams has reached a plea agreement on the assault charge, and a count of impersonating a police officer.
Adams allegedly pretended to be a cop, in order to intimidate possible witnesses in the case.
Prosecutors say Adams, who is 31, had intercourse with the girl, who was 16 at the time, while he was her supervisor at a fast-food restaurant.
He reportedly believed he was in a relationship with the teenager, who now has a baby.
Adams told Judge Scott Horne that he has a “lot of regrets” about the situation.
Horne withheld a possible prison sentence for Adams, who has already served some time in jail.
The judge said the age difference and Adams’s position of authority at work were significant factors in the criminal case, and he told Adams not to contact the teenager except in relation to court proceedings.
