More Losey repaving possible in the future

With a stretch of Losey Boulevard in La Crosse repaved and open, some are now looking to continue repairs on the busy four lane.

The just-completed stretch from State Road to Market Street is in city council member Gary Padesky’s district. He fought for the repaving after neighbors complained big trucks bouncing down a very bumpy Losey were damaging their homes.

“This one really was the right thing to do,” Padesky said. “I know a lot of people didn’t believe the homeowners, but I sat in some of those houses when trucks would go by and they really would just rock.”

While there’s no budget for it, La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat said he hopes to continue repairs on Losey south of State Road next year. Padesky says he’s happy to back that.
