If you’ve driven through downtown La Crosse and haven’t noticed the giant mural being painted on Third Street, then perhaps you aren’t a very attentive driver.

Local artist Landon Sheely has begun work on his Helping Hands mural on the northwest corner of the Main Street parking ramp.

Sheely has said the mural is meant to convey a sense of people helping each other.

The three-story artwork could be finished by the end of the week.

The project was expected to cost less than $5,000.
