For the second time this week, there’s allegedly been an attack started by young people housed in La Crosse County juvenile detention.

On Sunday morning, three girls, aged 12, 15 and 16, reportedly sent one guard to the hospital after hitting her multiple times, including with a broom, along with causing vandalism.

Now, a 16-year-old boy is facing two counts of battery for alleged attacks Tuesday and Wednesday, after he was transferred from the Lincoln Hills School for Boys prison.

Tuesday, he allegedly hit another juvenile from behind several times and knocked him down. The next day, the boy reportedly broke a dining room tray over the head of a male staffer at the juvenile center and punched him about 25 times.

The boy is being charged in adult court. He was initially brought to La Crosse after causing trouble at Lincoln Hills in Irma, Wis.

Judge Scott Horne set bond for the 16 year old at $10,000 and ordered another court hearing for July 25.

Horne wants him held back at Lincoln Hills before being returned to La Crosse, if he’s released from the state facility.
