Community Conversation features talk by Dave Skogen, highlights need for ethics in elected leaders

It’s a simple concept: Ethics among elected leaders.

But it is not something that we see much of, says Lee Rasch, head of the new group, LeaderEthics Wisconsin.

The group is holding its first Community Conversation Wednesday to begin promoting ethical leadership among elected leaders.

There’s a significant need for that type of movement, says Rasch.

“Why don’t we try to encourage people to be ethical leaders, as a way to become the most effective elected official they can be,” Rasch said.

Rasch says there has to be a push for that type of leadership — especially now.

“When you’re silent on that issue, it certainly could encourage the system to go the other direction,” Rasch said. “And, quite candidly, we believe that we’re on a downward slope.”
